Imersa is a startup from Juiz de Fora - MG, Brazil that has been researching and developing technologies related to artificial intelligence, computer vision, and semantic analysis for the past three years.
The story of the company begins much earlier though, Pedro (CEO) and Lucas (CSO) are childhood friends and had developed many projects together, from managing a football amateur team to organizing and performing at a stand-up show in their high school.
The company was founded in 2017 as a result of Pedro’s thesis at the Faculty of Business and Administration of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Still, in 2017, it was incubated at CRITT / UFJF and won a contribution from the SEBRAETEC program to develop the first prototype of its Immersive Memories application and validate the business proposal. The project was one of the winners of the 6th edition of the Campus Mobile competition, an initiative of Instituto Claro in partnership with USP. Shortly afterward, Imersa was approved at the Sesi Senai de Inovação Program and was also accelerated in the 2018 cycle of Inovativa Brasil, the largest open acceleration program in the country.
Imersa’s proprietary technology is Storytech, an artificial intelligence algorithm that combines computer vision techniques with a conversational interface that captures dialogs, it uses semantic analysis and machine learning to compile and extract meaning from the images and conversations captured.
The company uses the technology in different ways for its two products, however, the technology roadmap is one, integrated for delivering features for both solutions.
The technological and creative evolution of the memory album. Used to register travels and school years combining artificial intelligence, a mobile app, and a team of creative specialists. It’s already launched in the market with over 500 albums sold, and some critical partnerships are closed.
A solution to capture, compile, and present to companies relevant data and information about the performance of offline actions, stands, and selling points organized by big companies or marketing agencies. This project is being funded and will start development in late 2020.
